Etsy Handmade Weddings

Posted in: etsy, resources

I’m often amazed at the chain reactions that lead me places. I was searching for Seattle wedding websites and found Junebug Weddings, which had a link to Weddingbee on their blogroll, which had brides blogging about something called Etsy. Curiosity and a few clicks later, I found out what the buzz was all about. My first impression from the blogging was of a regular online store. Was I ever surprised to find out what it really was: a world in which handmade items were bought and sold. How did I not hear of this sooner? It wasn’t long before I started checking it everyday for cool stuff, and even shorter to search for wedding items. Oh yes, Etsy….you rock.

Then Etsy rocked even further by adding a Handmade Wedding series. Not only is it a great place for handmade inspiration and great wedding stories, but I got to contribute! I had a small article, and it was published yesterday morning. Yay!

Angel Brave aka 80Lady is a wedding and event coordinator (read more here). We initially found her popping up on the WeddingBee, adding useful suggestions and sharing her great ideas for Etsy items. We invited her to show us some of her favorite finds for men’s accessories on Etsy, some of which could be for the big day and some for groomsman gifts or registry ideas.

Etsy has indeed lots of great ideas for weddings. You can also create a full registry using Etsy items, although they don’t provide one you can use a tool like Wishpot to collect many of the handmade goods that Etsy provides.
