Wedding Movies in 2008

Posted in: fun

Chances are you’ve seen 27 Dresses and even if you didn’t, there was enough advertising that you probably know a good deal about the movie anyway. But wait, there’s more! I found out about three more wedding-related movies coming out in 2008. This must mean weddings are getting to be big business in the film industry or someone high up got married and decided to green light every wedding movie that came across the desk. Remember the days of one wedding movie every few years? Those days are out of here…bring on the brides.

First up, Made of Honor: A guy in love with an engaged woman tries to win her over after she asks him to be her maid of honor.

RSVP: May 2, 2008

And then there’s the film version of the hit musical, Mamma Mia: The story of a bride-to-be trying to find her real father told using hit songs by the popular ’70s group ABBA.

RSVP: July 18, 2008

Next, there’s The Accidental Husband: When talk radio host Emma Lloyd advises one of her listeners to break up with her boyfriend, the jilted ex sets about getting his revenge.

RSVP: August 22, 2008

I’m alightly nervous about Mamma Mia. I really want to see it but am worried it won’t live up to the musical!

Yeah, I wonder if it will translate well. I went to see the movie Chicago in the theater first and then on stage. Even though I saw the movie first, the play totally rocked, and I liked it better.

I haven’t seen Mama Mia yet, but one of my friends raved about it. I guess we’ll see!
