Panache Review

My guy and I went to Panache 2008 this Sunday thanks to an invitation from Don. Here’s a quick review of how it went.We were greeted at the registration booth once we stepped out of the first set of elevators. Two delightful ladies who gave us our Macy’s bag once we signed in. Another elevator ride up, and we stepped out onto the 75th floor. After checking our coats in, we scoped out the views. We had been to the observation deck before, but it just didn’t compare to this. I wish I could find a picture that did it justice, but you’ll just have to take my word for it. So, not only did we get a great view, but it was the first sunny day since I don’t know how long.

Wait staff passed hors d’oeurves and drinks around: sparkelling wine, raspberry lemonade and a signature cocktail called the blushing bride (vodka, peach schnapps and a dash of raspberry puree). Other hors d’oeurves were also stationed throughout the floor ensuring that you wouldn’t go hungry. Instead of a formal fashion show, models walked around in wedding dresses so guests could touch, admire, ask questions about and take pictures of the dresses.

I liked the fact that there were only a select few vendors in each category, and that everything seemed really laid back. It definitley wasn’t the bustling craziness of some of the huge shows, and it also didn’t drag on for hours on end. Four hours was enough time to eat, enjoy the views, and talk to each of the vendors.

Alison G., the winner of the giveaway, had this to say about the show:

“We had a very nice time yesterday.  I would recommend anyone getting married in the area to attend this event.  I especially loved the ‘brides’ who walked among the guests in wedding gowns and make up.  The view and food were also spectacular; we loved being at Columbia Tower.

It was difficult to relax and take everything in however, as the vendors were very eager to engage in conversation.  (This is understandable because they clearly love what they do and are very talented.)

Overall, a great afternoon and I got some excellent information and business cards I will keep.”

And as a surprise, Governor Christine Gregoire was there with her daughter, Courtney. My guy pointed her out and to confirm it, nodded to the two suited gentlemen at the cocktail table behind her.

    Hello!

I got your review from Don Boshears at the Columbia Tower Club; he forwarded the link to all the vendors that were at the show on Sunday. You mention in your first paragraph the beautiful view and I have a couple awesome photos if you’re interested. Just shoot me an email and I’ll send them your way.

    best,
