Inspiration: Pottery Barn Catalog
The great thing about wedding inspiration is that it can come from anywhere. After the excitement for my new wedding magazine wound down, I saw that I had also received the January 2008 Pottery Barn catalog. Now I would love to watch the people set up these rooms. My detail-loving eyes can spend ages looking at every page. (Notice the cool Paris ceremony and reception map on page 24. Then see how it doesn’t match up with the invite it’s pinned next to…yes, I know; it’s a desease.)
As I was flipping through, a couple of lamps caught my eye. First is the Photographer’s Lighting Collection. These “golden age of cinema” inspired lamps would be a great touch in a 30’s glamour or Hollywood style wedding. The smaller ones could spotlight the guest book and then your desk.
Then a few pages later I saw these glass lamps. Wouldn’t these be cool wish bowls or guest books. Just put some pretty papers that match your home’s decor for guests to sign and then when the wedding’s over put the three-way switch back on and voila.
