Occupations and Ornaments
It’s tradition in our family to buy one another ornaments for Christmas, and I thought it would be fun this year to get something that reflects our occupations. Then I realized that I had no idea what kind of ornament would work for an event coordinator. 2007 was mostly about weddings for me, so I started there. But when I searched, I only found ones geared towards newly married couples or Christmas weddings.
Now if you’re a seamstress, you have symbols like the dress form, pin cushion, needle, thread, sewing machine, measuring tape and so on. If you a baker, there’s cakes. A photographer….camera etc. But what does a coordinator have? I’m not keen on hanging a PDA on my tree since a) I don’t own one and b) it’s not exactly descriptive. I mean a lot of different kinds of people use PDAs. Hands? Nah, that just makes me think of a massage therapist. Dang. This is harder than I thought.
But while I was searching, I found a few cool things on Etsy. Most of the items are not actually ornaments, but can be easily converted by adding a ribbon. Maybe you know a cool vendor that deserves one of these.
For the Seamstress:
For the Photographer and Videographer (Since there are a million advancements in this medium, I say go old school):
For the Florist (there are a zillion…that’s a million plus 3….pendants on Etsy, so you can search by your favorite flower):
For the Baker:
Despite having a great time looking all this up, I’m still stumped.
